Professor Mamedov T.G., the Doctor of Biological Sciences was
born in 1933. He graduated from Faculty of Biology of the Baku
State Universitety in 1956. Two years later he joined the post
graduate course at the Moscow State University under speciality
of biophysics. He defended his Candidate Thesis in 1960 and began
to work on the Chair "Biophysics" at the biological
faculty of Moscow State University. From 1962 till 1975 he worked
as a senior scientific researcher, then as a head of the laboratory
of Radiation Biophysics at the Scientific Institute of Medical
Radiobiology of Medical Sciences of Former USSR. During these
years Mamedov T.G. didn't break down off his contacts with chair
of "Biophysics at the MSU and teachered students under special
courses of radiobiology.
Mamedov T.G. defended his Doctoral thesis under speciality "Biophysics"
in 1973. Since 1976 he was at the head of Chair "Biophysics"
and Molecular Biology Laboratory at the Baku State University,
the first Department of our Republic's High School History, trained
specialists in the field of biohysics. At the same time Prof.Mamedov
T.G. carried out intensive scientific investigations in the laboratory
of photobiology at the section of Molecular - genetic basis of
productional processes of Institute Botany of Academy Sciences
of Azerbaijan and Laboratory of biotechnology of the Baku State
University.
In 1994, on the Nobel Prize Winner, the Prof. Chan's invitation
Mamedov T.G. worked during three months in Pensilvane University
of the USA.
The Professor Mamedov T.G. played an important role at the trainning
of the scientific and pedagogical staff for our Republic. Under
his guidance were defended 20 Candidate Thesises. Prof. Mamedov
T.G. has been the author of over than 200 scientific works, including
two monograhies. He was a member of Scientific - Methodical Advice
at the Ministry of National Education of the Former USSR, chairman
of a Section of Biophysics at the
Advice of physico-chemical biology and biotechnology of Academy
Sciences of Azerbaijan, Co-chairman of the Expert Council on Biological
and Agricultural Sciences of High Attestational Commision of Azerbaijan
Republic.
Mamedov T.G. will always remain in memory of his students, friends
and colleagues as a kind person, talented and purposeful scientist…
